Abstract
The $\bar{\partial}$-Neumann problem was formulated by D. C. Spencer in the fifties as a means to generalize the theory of harmonic integrals to non-compact complex manifolds. It is a fundamental problem, both in the theory of several complex variables and and in the theory of partial differential equations. In this talk, we will briefly introduce the $\bar{\partial}$-Neumann problem and research development with the viewpoint of partial differential equations (mainly by Joseph Kohn's school) along the history.
