Abstract: I will describe a topological problem in algebraic geometry that may be approached using the machinery of differential geometry and representation theory.

P. Howard:"Preparing for Job Interviews"

Abstract: I'll give a short discussion of some of the key points involved in preparing for job interviews, including pitfalls to avoid and standard questions that job candidates should be prepared to answer. I'll also give a brief overview of the current job market and trends in academic employment.
