Abstract
Graphene, the first ever known 2D carbon-based material, is the subject for 2010 Nobel prize in physics for its superior mechanical and electronic properties. Graphynes, which are also monolayers of carbon allotropes, are claimed to be even better than graphene. In this talk, I will explain why it is so exciting to study about them and why graphyne, from mathematical point of view, could excel graphene.
