Abstract
Because they are beautiful to the naked eye, tessellations have been studied for centuries, not only by mathematicians, but also for people outside mathematics, as the well-known artisan M.C. Escher. To our days, tessellations remains a research area in mathematics. The intention of this talk is not only to introduce some different types of tessellations, but to give a small sample of the kind of theorems you can find in this research area.
The knowledge assumed for this talk is basically null, so this talk should be easy to follow.
