"  Numbers Juggling "
 Aaron Goldsmith

Abstract

Juggling has been around for at least 4000 years, but has had little to do with mathematics until the 1970's when Claude Shannon wrote his "Juggling Thoerem". In the next decade, groups started describing different patterns with strings of integers (siteswaps) and this is where mathematical study reside. I will give a flippant, surprisingly inaccurate account of the history and attempt to present some interesting results about the throwing and catching of objects.
