I will give an overview of the algebraic formulation of quantum mechanics, including how certain concepts from the standard formulation are realized in the algebraic setting. Topics include mixed and pure states, spectra and eigenstates, measurement, quantization, and representation theory and the Gelfand-Naimark-Segal theorem.
